FEATURES
The base TMC system has two control stations,
one with the Dixon Horse Racing Editor Station and the other
with the Dixon Stewards Review Station, and a 6-channel,
broadcast quality video server with 12 hours of broadcast
quality storage. Additional stations can be added at any
time. Additional server channels can also be added two at
a time, and more storage can be added in 12 hour or bigger
blocks.
The Dixon Horse Racing Editor
and the server channels with storage reside in the video
control room. The Dixon Stewards Review Station resides
in the stewards room and connects to the server in
the control room via Ethernet. The Stewards Review
Station is so easy to use that the stewards can operate
it themselves, eliminating the need for a dedicated stewards
video operator.
DIXON
HORSE RACE EDITOR
The Dixon Horse Racing Editor contains
all the power of our proven Live Event Editor modified to
handle the specific needs of horse racing. The Live Event
Editor has been used in stadiums and arenas across North
America and continuously improved since 1995. Our Scheduling
Feature allows the operator to schedule Video in advance
to both the Big Screen and Concourse Levels as the fans
arrive at the track. This frees up the crew to work on more
pressing tasks. Simply set the date and time, and let the
TMC do the rest.
To record a race and then replay while the stewards do
their review is
"almost too easy." according
to Jim Fetter from Bay Meadows. To start recording all the
camera angles, simply click the start button. This is done
as the horses enter the starting gate. When the race starts,
the button is clicked again to mark the exact start of the
race. The race is watched and the end of the race marked,
stopping the recording.
At this point, the race information is passed automatically
to the Stewards Review Station so they can begin their
review. Simultaneously, the predefined replay sequence is
applied to the current race. The operator does a quick review,
records and logs the required race slides, and plays the
replay to the big screen and suites. The replay switches
camera angles at the designated stages in the race and the
slides appear at the right time and for exactly the assigned
duration.
STEWARD
REVIEW STATION
The Stewards
Review Station allows the stewards to view any portion of
the race. All recorded camera angles are available to the
stewards for review as soon as the race is over. (With more
channels it is even possible to begin the review before
the race is over.) The station allows the stewards to mark
a specific sequence and loop that sequence to show the fans
the video relating to the ruling they made.
The Stewards
Review Station receives race information from the Horse
Racing Editor via Ethernet. After the race, the control
of the video channels transfers from the Editor to the Stewards
Station. The Stewards Station controls the channels
via Ethernet and the video comes to the stewards room
on individual video cables and is played on individual monitors.
The Stewards Review Station gives immediate access
to every camera angle at any point in the race. The stewards
can cue to the race needing review by simply clicking on
one of the poles and playing the video at any speed, back
and forth. The angles playback in sync so the incident can
be seen simultaneously from all the available camera angles.
The station is so easy to use the stewards staff can
do it themselves, eliminating a steward video operator.
