POST
PRODUCTION
Non-linear video technology (storing video on computer hard
disks) provides significant benefits in the recording, replay,
and preparation of video for stewards review, fan
entertainment, and race documentation. The constraints of
the cur-rent linear (taped-based) system are eliminated.
Individual tape decks are replaced with a common storage
system connected to multiple video channels that record
and playback video to and from the common storage. As with
an audio CD, there is no waiting for a tape to fast forward
or rewind. Unlike a CD that has only a single channel, the
recorded material is available for instant playback on any
and all of the multiple channels simultaneously.
MOBILITY
The TMCs ability to quickly plug into the existing system
also enables it to easily move to a new control room or even
be put into a mobile case that could move between tracks.
To make the TMC the hub of another track, simply move the
case to the track control room, connect the video cables,
audio cables, and the control stations.
FUTURE GROWTH
The TMC is a hub to which you can add many spokes, adding
capability, providing new opportunities for revenue generation,
and expanding to meet future growth.
NEW OPPORTUNITIES
With
the transition to digital assets, new opportunities for
generating revenue arise. At the end of race day, all the
races are tagged and organized, and can easily be re-purposed
to generate new revenue streams. Examples of re-purposing
this digital asset include: transferring the races to an
in-house and/or internet VOD system, looping race replays
in-house on a sponsored channel of the tracks cable TV system,
and creating a fan-interactive suite system, which gives
the suite clientele insider access to video and statistical
data. Just imagine how instant access will impact your track
TV show.
It is also very easy to create a digital video archive of
all the races run in the current season, thus preserving
your digital assets for a longer period with all the opportunities
discussed above
DIXON VIDEO ARCHIVING
SYSTEM
The Dixon Video Archiving System (DVAS) is the tool for
saving your historical race footage and in creating an accessible
library. Our DVAS will allow you to store your footage in
an MPEG2 format for long term storage that is easily accessible,
no more need to store boxes of VHS tapes. Essentially, the
DVAS is a simple and easy solution for cataloging and preserving
you historical footage.
VOD
(Video on Demand)
Utilize the VAS to encoded low-res versions of the each
race for internet and suite VOD operations. The recall of
the video is instant available at any point of the race
and from all camera angles.
